Testing Yourself
Welcome to our keyboard lesson that allows you to select from a number of texts that can be used during your session. You'll also be able to set the length of time the lesson will last.
I needed a way to prepare for, and test my keyboarding speed and I found that most of the keyboard programs and online testing would trick you by allowing you to take the test but not releasing the results until I paid. One site even skewed the test results (making them worse) so that you would go beyond their first few free lesions and end up paying.
I decided to start a website that offered keyboard lessons free of charge without any limits of any kind. On this page, you'll find an excellent Typing Test that is totally free; here is how it works: Initially, you'll be given two types of keyboarding lessons to chose from, Typing Speed Test and 10 Key Typing Test. Select the first one to start your lesson.
Keyboard Lessons
In the first box you'll have a number of texts to choose from ranging from easy to more difficult. As you select the keyboard lesson, you will see the text appear in the box below. If you select a keyboard lesson in random text mode, we'll randomly select one of the lessons for you.
We found that most people have trouble with a keyboard lesson that lasts more than ten minutes, so you will have the option of 1 to 10 for lesson time.
When you start the keyboard lessons, you will have three second to get your fingers on the keyboard. The test starts by highlighting and underlining the first word in the lesson. Once you type a word wrong and press the space bar, you won't be able to go back.
At the end of the lesson, you'll be presented with your results. Press done and you'll be taken to the main keyboard lesson screen.
