Audit My PC
Audit My PC, promoting security awareness and web security tools free of charge.
Welcome! AuditMyPC.com is a vulnerability assessment, privacy test, research and security information site. This site was designed to promote security awareness - free of charge!
I originally started this site in October of 2000 and moved it to AuditMyPC.com shortly after. The site was created because I desired a greater understanding of security and in-depth web based programming. I was also motivated by the lack of similar sites and the need to perform remote security scans without limitations, fees or long registration requirements.
With the help of my lead programmer in the picture to your left :), we work hard to make our site aesthetically pleasing with fast and easy navigation. The last thing a user new to security needs is a complicated site littered with hard to read material and nested pages.
The information this site provides about your system is available to every site on the internet. The purpose here is not to scare, but to make you aware.
PC Audit
You'll notice a number of unique features not found at any other site; features like PC Audits of all 65,535 (TCP / UDP) ports and user input scans that allow a visitor to test only the ports he or she needs. There have been countless browser vulnerabilities in both code and browser misconfiguration. Rather than test for every possible vulnerability, the Privacy Section attempts to test for top level vulnerabilities; vulnerabilities that when fixed, correct lower level problems as well.
The site is also the only Security Conscious site I am aware of (Security Kudos). Built into the system is the ability for the user, ISP or network administrator to block out their IP address from being audited in the future. The system also attempts to recognize proxy servers and based upon the type of proxy (transparent, cache or corporate), allow or disallow an audit. Users generally do not understand remote proxies, therefore; every attempt is made to help the user behind the scenes.
Audit My PC is working on a secure section of the site that will allow businesses to test their website (free of charge of course) for vulnerabilities beyond that of a port scan. We also have a number of other tests, such as popup blocker, browser security, internet speed tests and much more.
This site receives a large amount of traffic per day which forces us to perform extremely fast scans; the down side of this can be false readings, especially if you have a slow connection. You can reduce errors by performing multiple scans and comparing the results.
New ideas are always welcome! If you have any suggestions, comments or concerns, feel free to post them in our Web Security Forum or drop me an email at and I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible. A great deal of site enhancements have come from these suggestions, and many late nights and early mornings are spent programming these changes.
