I have vista installed with Word 2010 as the word processor but some one sent me a document in wordpad and Wordpad now is overwriting the format of any Word document I have or open in email. How can I remove Wordpad or solve this problem?
    Thanks

  2. Process Monitor says:

    Hello Rita,

    Try this…

Under View in Folder Options of Control Panel, check ‘Show hidden files and folders’ and right under that, uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types.

Then navigate your way to the c:\windows\inf folder and look for wordpad.inf (won’t find this in Vista) and selected uninstall by right clicking on it.

However, there is no harm in leaving wordpad and comes with windows. If there is an icon on your desktop that your son installed, just delete it. The program will still be there but it won’t be in your face.

    Hope that helps!
