i got suckered in too, sent a few emails bak n forward with them then some lynda phong wanted my power of attorney. no way was i doing that. these cunts have all my details except my bank. i need help i wanna take them down. if anyone has persued this matter lagally im intrested in the outcome. i reckon we could sue them.
people these people are all a scam think about it this way.they use a gmail email account which is free they cant register a domain on godaddy.com think it costs less than 10 bucks. secondly if they can give me USD 7.8 Mill why can they not call rather than send sms. surely on their budget they have money to call the winners.
the sms i got was giving me a UK number to call but the number was from Ghana.
i live in Ethiopia i received a sms message from gmx your mobile have won us $7.8m for world bank int’l relirf effort award.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and use an Australian mobile phone provider.
I have also received an SMS titled from: WORLD BANK. “Congratulations your mobile you have won US $ 9.8 M for World Bank award. To claim contact Mrs Hahn Doyle via wbre01@gala.net”
Shouldn’t the Australian Federal Police investigate these fraudsters?
HM
This is a joke and some people most probably paid a huge price, please do not give out any information as this will lead to disastor. This is happening the second tym. These cakes should be caught and tortures with ciggarette butts.
i live in wa, Australia and just received 2 sms from them saying to contact Mrs Hahn Doyle on wbre01@gala.net to claim my $9.8m for World Bank Award, the must be getting desperate, the amount has gone up $2m since the last entries on this site. I checked this site before i put in this email, unfortunately people will be scammed, if the technology for the computers is so good, then why can’t we have protection from all these jerks who try and prey on people to rip them of? Fix the problem please before these jerks make too much money, get a job for goodness sake!
From Victoria. I just received same thing with a bigger bait.. it is now “US$9.8M”. I would like to know how they obtained my number as I am very guarded with it. I am not registerred with this “GMX” mob so they didn’t pass it on. My number has been provided to my employer and contractors for whom I work from time to time and my bankers. I recently made an on-line purchase with “Dino Direct”. I’d like to identify the info selling a’holes so that we can take appropriate action against them!
They request your bank account details and for you to sign a form giving them Power of Attorney. What this means is they can then legally withdraw all funds from your bank account. That is the nature of this SCAM. They also want you to give them some money up front – all the while promising to give you millions of dollars. I feel sorry for anyone who has had their hard earned money taken from them in this way.
I live in Australia. I also received a sms saying that I have won $7.8m. I too sent some of my personal details. Thank God I went onto this web site and found out it was a scam. How can these people do this to other people. Hope no one falls for this like I did.
Believe it or not. I just received the same SMS claiming that I have Won $7.8m. Thanks for everyone on this site warning people about this SCAM. Maybe I should report this to INTERPOL.
I live in Australia and between 22/11/2010 and 27/11/2010 I recieved an sms and several emails saying my number was a random monthly winner of UK$7.8M and was advised by a Mrs Ana Bellver wbre@gala.net to contact a Mr Denis Robitaille at worldbankreliefeffort@yahoo.com.hk who then informed me that I had to contact Mrs Nima Phuong at phuong@solicitorsllp.com +447924556196 as she is the only person who can transfer the winnings into my nominated account… I sent an email to this so called solicitor and I was sent back a TT document for foreign exchange with a official looking letter head and a Power of Attourney form to fill in and return, both documents have got spelling and punctuation mistakes. I had a friend tell me that none of these numbers matched areas of the UK and that wording of these emails was very unusual to be a legal document.. we then began searches on these said people and they all came up to be non related to any of this content this is when I realised IT IS ALL A SCAM.. I have stopped replying to these emails but these people are still sending them to me…
I live in Cape Town South Africa and also recieved a message on my cell stating that i had won a amount of 7.8 million us dollors and been ask for my name and address but no id no. or banking details do these fraudsters normaly gets away with this and how does this scam works

What a wank. I also received a text stating I won US$7.8M. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I was advised to contact the royal marble bank in the UK & quote the reference numbers I was given. Further on down the track after about 10 more emails reassuring me I was a winner & that I now could claim my prize I reached Mrs Rose Li Huang the appointed attorney to allow the funds to be transferred into my account. Well good old Rose wanted Identification & money before authorizing the US$7.8M be transferred into my account. Your guess is as good as mine as to what would of happened when they got my Id & money.
Give them nothing, they are all wankers who can not make an honest dollar. God help them if they send a winning text to the the wrong person!
Yep I received the same sms at 5.35am this morning. I live in North Queensland in Australia and I knew it was a scam so don’t waste your valuable personal time and effort for the sake of some jerks!!!! I just wish somehow someone could find these idiots or morons and put them away for a very long time.
Been receiving sms notifications now they on my yahoo e-mail and they don’t give up they just carry on and on and on , but how does the scam work can somebody inform me …please

I live in Botswana. I recived the same kind of sms in my mobile about winning $7.8 million. i e-mailed and was asked all the details omitting the bank account. i smelled a rat when i was asked to pay $589 for posting. When i replied that the amount i won is big enough they can take a $1000 from the winning that’s when they stopped e-mailing me. People THIS IS A SCAM. HOW CAN 30 PEOPLE WIN THE SAME AMOUNT
I am from Pakistan. I ve also received the same scam msg on my mobile that u ve won $ 7.8 million world bank relef mobile award. After reading above experiences Ive concluded that this is fraud. If such fraudulent groups making common people befool in the name of world bank & FIFA then these institutions shoud proclaim the reality through media to save the common man.
Can someone not do somthing about these criminals
I too recived an sms advising me that i have won US$7,8million and i should send my details to this woman Rose Huang and she sent me a power of attoney to fill out sign and send back to her. Me allowing them the power to have funds released from a Barclyas bank account in the UK. This is all too good to be true so i just wrote it off as a well planned SCAm and should any one get this just ignor it and delete from your inbox. Where and how do these tricksters get our contact details from.
Its a scam! My husband got the exact sms and we were just about to send 594pounds request. But was inquisitive to find where the draw took place, my search ended me on this page. If they do read these messages i say its sick! to think you can reap where u did not plant! Go and find urselves work to do and feed ur families, be in the shoes of the people u are robbing and repent of ur unrighteous works and find peace with ur maker. U shall eat from ur sweat says the bible. Botswana
i recived a sms about 7.8 million US and now i realised that it is a really a scam . the people who gets the sms be alert . be aware . and araise.
do not waste you golden time in this .
Its a scam to obtain an assessment that will be used to gauge moral fiber of and identity for future scam components. Look at what else is going on in your life, keep check of the information you have put through on other e-mails within your address. These people obviously can look at all your e-mails and this is their doorway in.Call it profiling, or gathering information. Clean -up and delete all e-mails. hope this helps….Ian
i also recieved the same sms about 7,8 million US $ & was about to send the requested amount of money via money gram or any other western money transfer. it is definately a SCAM. I plead to all South Africans to be carefull about this SCAM!!!
I don’t know much about this award, but I sent my personal details to that email adress. Can anyone please go through the trouble to tell me more about this, or even say what i have to do to stop the concequences? And is there even such a real award?
I recieved this sms too and i want to know what this guy is up to.Um looking for your help since i have sent some of my particulas to him.
I live in SA and received a text on my cell phone stating : “WORLD BANK: CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR MOBILE HAVE WON US $7.8M FOR WORLD BANK INT’L RELIEF EFFORT AWARD. TO CLAIM CONTACT MR. D ARNOLD VIA wbre01@yahoo.com.hk.”
A slight wild goose chase later i rceieved an e-mail saying i must contact “ROSE LI HUANG FROM HUANG SOLICITORS LLP +44 787 224 7478/ +44 762 411 0681/ +44 770 002 2473.” to orgNISE PAYMENT OF $7.8M
Obviously this is a scam, but how does it work as no bank details were requested only personal info such as name, age, sex, address, employment etc??
Would really like to know how these scams work…
I recieved the same sms this morning (07.10.2010) stating “Congratulations your mobile have won US$7.8M for World Bank int’l Relief Effort Award. To claim contact Mr.D Arnold via: wbre8@yahoo.com.hk” firstly they can’t even structure a sentence correctly and secondly my common sense is telling me that we can’t all win US$7.8M. I also received the fifa2010 scam earlier this year. Guess my phone is a hot target.
These people send me n sms of a winning draw of my mobil nr. They dont ask personal details up to know. I have to sign a power of attorney and some personal details from Huang Solitors. What i get on the internet is. They is not regestered at the china and they take a other attorney s website elegal over. So I think it is scham. Please help us to get thim in jail.
Dont waste your time its nonsence, clearly it is.

I receive an sms this morning also from “World Bank Relief Effort”, luckily we are very aware of scams and I thought it was very funny. I wanted to google this new scammer to see if he actually got away with it already.
Glad to see all of the above “near victims” outsmarted this fraudster!

It was sent by a Shaun Elvis Melvin Foreign Service Manager UK INT’L SUBSCRIBERS AGENT.
