The plain answer up front: there are no accounts or passwords here, nothing asks for your name, and we do not sell visitor data.
What arrives on its own
Like nearly every web server, ours writes a log line for each request: the IP address it came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s self-description. We use these logs to spot abuse, block attacks, and figure out what broke when something breaks. Logs are kept for about six weeks and then deleted automatically.
Tools that show you your own information
Pages like Whats My IP and Digital Footprint read the connection details your browser already sends to every website, and show them back to you. That display happens on the spot. Nothing from it is saved beyond the ordinary server log described above.
The sitemap generator
When you submit a website address, we store that address and the files the crawl produces. Download links expire after 24 hours, and our working copies are removed after about a week. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out, which means Cloudflare processes some technical details of your connection while it checks that you are human; that check is covered by Cloudflare’s own privacy policy. We also keep short-lived counters per IP address so one visitor cannot flood the tool.
The website monitor
If you set up a website monitor, we store the email address you give us, the web addresses you ask us to watch, the optional phrase you want checked, and the current pass or fail state of each check with its timestamps. We do not keep a history of routine checks. We do keep an anonymous log of service events, such as when a monitor was created, alerted, paused, or deleted, recorded with the site hostname and a one-way code in place of the email address; that log cannot be turned back into your address. We email that address only to confirm your request and to tell you when a monitored site fails or recovers. Alert emails are delivered through Brevo, our email provider, which processes the recipient address to deliver the message under Brevo’s own privacy policy. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile the same way the sitemap generator does, and the same kind of short-lived per-IP counters. Requests that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days. Deleting your last monitor deletes your email address with it, right away. If we have not heard from you for about three months, we send one reminder email, and at about four months your monitors pause themselves and stop checking. A monitor that stays paused for six months is deleted the same way.
The port scanner
When you run the port scanner, your browser asks our server for a short-lived permission slip and then talks to our scanning service directly. That service reads the address to test off the connection itself and cannot be told to use a different one, which is why nobody can point it at somebody else.
The scanning service keeps one line for each scan: the address, how many ports were asked about, a count of how the results came back, and the time. It does not record which individual ports answered, and it never looks at what is running behind them. That line is what lets us answer a network operator who asks whether we connected to them and when, which is a question we would rather be able to answer than not. It is kept for about six weeks and then deleted. Results themselves are not stored at all; they stream to your browser and that is the end of them.

The speed test
The speed test runs between your browser and our server, and the result stays in your browser. We do not record your scores.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. Google’s tag sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data to Google, which handles it under Google’s privacy policy. We see aggregate reports, not a feed of individuals. If you would rather not be counted, Google offers a browser opt-out add-on, and blocking cookies for this site breaks nothing; every tool works without them.
What we do not do
- No accounts and no passwords, ever; the website monitor keeps only a verified email address
- No selling, renting, or trading of visitor data
- No advertising networks at present; if that changes, this page will say so first
- No newsletters or mailing lists; monitor alerts go only to addresses that confirmed them, and only about the sites they chose
Where this applies and where the data lives
This statement applies to every visitor, wherever you are. The site runs on servers in the United States, so everything described above is processed there.
